Our Vision: Ardtornish
Primary School aspires to provide highly effective
teaching and relevant, challenging and purposeful learning experiences for each
child to ensure they receive a balanced education within a caring,
supportive, safe and fun environment.
Our values are Respect, responsibility,
confidence, safety and security and fun. These values underpin
all that we do. We develop students' social skills,
creativity, problem solving, self confidence and
ability to access and process knowledge. We provide a safe,
happy, caring, supportive and positive environment in which children
develop empathy for others, responsibility, and a strong desire
to learn and achieve.
The school is recognised for its
excellent programmes in a diverse range of areas such as the
music, drama, science, and sport and students have access to
many extra-curricula activites such as
aerobics, Pedal Prix and orchestra. Programmes are child-centred, success
orientated and children are encouraged to take risks without
fear of failure. Children are also provided with opportunities
to develop skills for independent learning and self-motivation.
The school prides itself on having
parent/teacher relationships that enhance the learning opportunities available to students and believes that teachers and parents are partners in
an education programme.
The school programme is further
enriched by involvement with the community and projects which
demonstrate active involvement in their learning.
